Head of Human Resources – Position Overview

The Head of Human Resources (HR Director) will lead all aspects of Novaio’s human resources operations, including talent acquisition, employee engagement, performance management, organizational development, and HR compliance. This role is ideal for a seasoned HR leader with a proven track record in tech companies, SaaS businesses, or fast-paced startups, who can combine strategic vision with hands-on execution.

Location: Mississauga HQ

Key Responsibilities

  • ✦ Develop and execute HR strategies aligned with Novaio’s business and growth objectives.
  • ✦ Lead recruitment, onboarding, and talent retention for top talent in technology, sales, and operations.
  • ✦ Build and manage a performance management framework to drive employee growth and accountability.
  • ✦ Create and implement employee engagement, learning, and professional development programs.
  • ✦ Ensure compliance with Canadian employment laws and maintain up-to-date HR policies.
  • ✦ Drive company culture initiatives that reflect Novaio’s mission and values.
  • ✦ Partner with leadership on workforce planning, compensation structures, and organizational design.
  • ✦ Oversee HR software systems, payroll coordination, and employee benefits administration.

 

Qualifications

  • ✦ Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field (Master’s preferred).
  • ✦ 5+ years of progressive human resources management experience, including at least 2 years in a leadership role.
  • ✦ Proven track record in technology, SaaS, or high-growth startup environments.
  • ✦ In-depth knowledge of Canadian labor laws, HR best practices, and compliance.
  • ✦ Strong leadership, communication, and decision-making skills.
  • ✦ Ability to excel in a fast-paced, innovative business environment.
